Roses Red intuition and Pink intuition: large-flowered varieties with extravagant color

Roses Red intuition and Pink intuition belong to the category of hybrid tea varieties and in some countries in catalogs for the mass consumer are referred to as Large-flowered. The main distinguishing characteristics of tea-hybrid roses are considered to be the highest quality of flowers, as well as the continuity and duration of plentiful flowering. Such varieties are most often grown in greenhouse conditions for the purpose of cutting and further sale.

Varietal characteristic of roses Red intuition

The hybrid tea variety Red Red Intuition, or Red Intuition, is well known to domestic flower growers. Rose bushes are tall and dense, practically do not have a spike and differ in attractive, semi-glossy leaves. The plant develops quite vigorously and forms red, with pronounced dark red stripes or spots, flowers, consisting of thirty to forty petals. The size of the flowers is medium or relatively large.

Terry flowers, single growing, goblet-shaped with a characteristic elevation in the central part. The buds are quite high, have a classic shape. The diameter of fully blossomed flowers is about 10.0-11.5 cm. Aromatic qualities are average, the aroma is quite light, not too pronounced. The flowering period is long. The average height of an adult rose bush varies between 1.0-1.2 m with a width of not more than 0.6-0.7 m.

Over the past few years, the variety Red Intuition has consistently maintained a leading position in terms of sales of planting material. The originator of the variety, received Red Intuition fifteen years ago, was the French Delbard. The harmonious combination of several shades of red in the color of this rose makes it very attractive for cutting and further implementation.

In addition to the unusual color, positive reviews and high marks of gardeners were obtained by this variety due to excellent resistance to damage by the most common diseases in flower growing, as well as sufficient frost resistance. Rose bushes of this universal variety are widely used in the design of mixboders, but look great in single plantings.

Rules for protection against diseases and pests

Pathogens and plant parasites can cause very severe damage to rose bushes, and sometimes cause the death of an ornamental plant, so preventive measures should be given great attention. Timely and competent implementation of agricultural practices and protective measures is the basis of the preventive protection of rose bushes:

  • aphid quite often damages the ground part of the plant and causes a significant weakening of the rose, therefore, to destroy this plant parasite, it is recommended to treat with "Actellic", "Antio", "Karbofos", "Metation" or "Rogor";
  • against damage to the bushes by mites, larvae, sawflies and caterpillars, you can use a solution based on 0.3 kg of chopped onion or garlic, 0.4 kg of tomato foliage and 3 l of water. The mixture should be infused for 5-6 hours, after which filtering is carried out and water is brought to a volume of 10 liters. In the finished infusion should be added about 35-40 g of chopped laundry soap;

  • To combat the spider mite, rose bushes are sprayed with 0.08% Acrex or 0.05% Isofen;
  • Powdery mildew is prevented by means of 3% iron sulfate, 0.3% potassium sulfate or 3% copper sulfate.

Inadequate nutrition of rose bushes often causes chlorosis. In this case, soil analysis is carried out, on the basis of which the soil composition should be balanced by introducing nutrients.

For minor plant damage, it is recommended that preference be given to the use of non-toxic folk remedies, which can be prepared on the basis of the leaves of nightshade crops, hot red pepper, garlic, onions and shag or tobacco.

Important to remember, that compliance with agricultural technology allows you to get stronger and more resistant to the defeat of diseases and pests plants.

Reviews of amateur gardeners

The opinion of domestic flower growers about varieties of the Intuition series was divided. Negative reviews of these varieties are most often given by owners of young and recently planted root plants. Such bushes, in fact, are characterized by rather weak growth and flowering in the first year of vegetation.

In addition, root-bearing rose bushes more often than others freeze out in the winter, due to the presence of a root system of a superficial, fibrous type, with a significant number of primary weak roots. But starting from the third year of vegetation, the root system of the plant will be represented by well-developed and powerful roots, which reduces the risk of death of rose bushes in the winter.

Hybrid Tea Roses: Pruning

In recent years, the Pink Intuition and Red Intuition varieties have been fairly replaced by the Orange Intuition tea-hybrid rose, the classic buds of which have creamy stripes against a rich orange background.
